Psalm 9:1 (NIV)
2016 has been a stressful year – if we checked one of those stress scales, we would score near the top of the possible scores. And yet, we have so very much to be sincerely thankful for this year! We are making a list of things about which we are thankful – and it is running to several typewritten pages in small font. God is so good and He has been a real presence in our lives.
Bruce traveled to Louisville to participate in the Global Missions Health Conference (www.medicalmissions.com) held on November 10 – 12 in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a true blessing to be among thousands who seek to serve the Lord in medical missions. The picture is of the amazing audience response at the end of the conference when our friend, Rev. Stan Key, gave a soul-stirring challenge. Hundreds came forward to make a commitment to serve. They dropped a card on a projected map on the stage floor – and kept coming and coming. We made some great contacts with potential future PAACS faculty and had over 65 attend the Friend of PAACS dinner held on Friday night.
On the 14th, my son and I drove 15 hours to Lapeer Michigan, loaded up the U-Haul trailer with three pieces of furniture, slept in an empty home and drove back the next day to deliver the furniture and go to bed! Truly weird to see my childhood home completely empty. Not a fun drive, either.
Since we have hit our deductibles, we all have had a flurry of medical and dental appointments. But the big news is told by the big smile on my bride’s face. Her x-ray was good and one tube was removed. In two weeks, the internal stent will be removed with an outpatient procedure. She has no pain.
We look forward to spending Thanksgiving in Raleigh with my son and his wife and my sister and her husband. May God richly bless you all!
